FAQs

Q: How far in advance should I book my shoot?

A: If you are looking to have your photos taken in the Fall, you should book ASAP. This is the busiest time of year for me. If you are just booking a family shoot, I would say 3 to 4 weeks prior. If it is a senior, engagement, or maternity, you may want to book 2 -4 months in advance. If you are wanting to book a wedding, then you need to get your deposit to me as soon as you are sure that I am the right photographer for you. I cannot secure your spot without a deposit.

A:  Anchorage Trail ; Water Front Park ; Cave Hill ; Cherokee Park; Papa Johns park; The Highlands; Downtown;  Iroquois Park; Bernheim Forest; Huber's Orchard; UofL;

Q: What should we wear?

A: There are lots of different options as to what to wear. It really depends on what you are looking for. If you would like a photo in black and white, you may want to wear something simple like solid colors, white shirts & khaki pants, black shirt & blue jeans, etc. You may also want to try something fun like stripes or polka dots.

If you are looking for a picture that you will be hanging in a certain room, you may want to stick with the color theme of the room.

If you want something that is going to be stunning and stand out, then you will want to wear bright colors or at least an accent that is bright.

Q: Should I use any props in my pictures?

A: Yes! Props give you the opportunity to make your photos your own. There is nothing better that getting a sense of who someone is just by looking at a photograph. It brings life to your photos and helps to make a shoot fun and interactive. It also helps kids to stay focused and relaxed.

Q: Do you have any suggestions regarding props or how to choose the right one for my family?

A: When choosing a prop, you should take a minute to think about yourself and your family. What do you all enjoy doing? Fishing, hunting, shopping, reading, playing instruments, sports, riding bikes, your pets, doing your nails, listing to your Ipod, playing video games, playing board games, going on a picnic, going for a hike, camping, skating, singing, swimming, taking pictures, scrap booking, watching movies, jewelry, shoes, facebook, computers, a favorite toy, etc. All of these thing can be incorporated into your pictures and can give them a great theme. You just need to get creative. Feel free to call me and we can discuss your ideas, or come up with some. If you are wanting a strong theme you may want to think about that when choosing your location. And yes, even boys can use props!
